What is “Halal?”

An Arabic word, that has such meanings as “permissible” in English, and that under Islam law means “within the law” and “healthy, pure, safe, high quality.” It is also used to represent the “healthy products and activities” that are permitted under Islamic teachings, and for the followers of Islam (Muslims) it forms a vital standard for the guidelines of a safe lifestyle based on Islam law.

What is “Halal Certification?”

An examination system that ensures that products (cosmetics, food, beverages, medicine, etc.) with the Halal certification may safely be consumed by followers of Islam. In addition to conditions such as the use of organic and non-genetically modified raw materials, the production process and product quality assurance system must also adhere to the religious precepts. Even the storage conditions must be strictly halal, making this an extremely difficult certification to achieve.
